Who We Are

Shoals Pediatric Group, located in Florence, AL, has been serving families across the Shoals since 1985. Originally founded by Dr. Daniel Hammond, the practice continues to carry on his unwavering commitment to care the children of our community. We are especially grateful for the foundation laid by two other long-term physicians of the group, now retired - Dr. GR Freeman and Dr. Judy Moore.

Shoals Pediatric Group is open Monday through Friday, 8:00-4:30 PM.

Meet Our Providers

Dr. Kelley, a Florence native, joined Shoals Pediatric Group in 2017. She left Alabama to attend college at Washington and Lee University in Virginia, before returning to Mobile to attend medical school at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. She then completed her pediatric residency at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is a board-certified pediatrician. 

Dr. Kelley has three young children. Her family attends First Presbyterian Church in Florence. Dr. Kelley enjoys playing tennis and Mahjong, spending time on Wilson Lake, reading, being with friends and family, traveling, and uninterrupted sleep.

Dr. Kelley has always loved children and enjoys hearing the funny things they say. Her first job, at age 13, was babysitting. Dr. Kelley has a special interest in breastfeeding, pediatric mental health, and effective antibiotic usage.

Brittney Hood, MSN, CRNP, FNP-C

Brittney Hood earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Alabama in 2006 and her Master of Science in Nursing from Samford University in 2013. She has a passion for supporting breastfeeding families and served as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant for 15 years.

As a Registered Nurse, Brittney began her career as a nursery nurse, helping welcome newborns into the world and supporting families during those special first days.

As a Nurse Practitioner, she has many years of experience in pediatrics and urgent care, caring for children of all ages.

Outside of work, Brittney enjoys spending time with her husband, Daniel, and their two children, Tucker and Finley. She loves cheering on her kids at sporting events, reading, and traveling with her family.
